  • Working from home

    Hello,

I have been working from home for approximately 18 months (since September 2023).

In February 2024, I submitted an informal flexible working request, which was rejected.

However, I ignored this and continued working from home despite the rejection.

I am still working remotely, but my employer has now asked me to return to the office or they will start disciplinary proceedings.

Could you advise me on my legal rights regarding this situation?

Before being able to advise I have some questions:

What does your contract of employment state about where you are located for work?

Were you working from an office prior to Sept 2023?

If so how did the change to working from home come about ?

What was the informal flexible working request for?

    Why was it rejected?

    Why did you ignore it?

What action if any did he company take after you rejected the outcome?

What reasons have the employer given for you returning to the office?

Are other staff working at home being asked to return to the office?

I do not provide advice by PM although I may on occasion ask you to send me documents this way but any related advice will be provided back on your thread.

I do my best to provide good practical advice, however I do so without liability.
If you have any doubts then do please seek professional legal advice.
