My employer has gone into liquidation and terminated all staff and they say they don’t have funds to pay redundancy or PILON monies. I understand that the UK govt will pay redundancy of week salary for every year worked up to £700 a week but I don’t know what PILON payments are available? My employment contract included a 3 months notice period . Does the govt scheme cover any or all of that? Thanks

My understanding is that the government scheme covers redundacy payments and not other contractual payments. I am tagging @ulacwho will correct me if this is wrong.Lawyer (solicitor) - retired from practice, now supervising solicitor in a university law clinic. I do not advise by private message.

If your employer is insolvent you can claim some of the money your employer owes you from the Redundancy Payments Service - this is a government service. You can claim:
* up to 8 weeks’ unpaid wages if you are owed wages which have not been paid
* pay for annual leave - including annual leave you were owed but did not take
* statutory notice pay
* any statutory redundancy pay that may be due
An insolvency practitioner should contact you, they are the person in charge of your employer's debts. They will give you a case reference number called a "CN number". You need to use this number to claim the money your employer owes you. You will usually get the money within 6 weeks of applying.
If you are entitled to statutory notice pay and your employer did not pay it, you need to make a second claim for it. The insolvency practitioner will give you another case reference number called an "LN number". They will only give it to you after your notice period should have ended.If you would like a one-to-one expert consultation with me on your employment issue than I can be contacted by emailing admin@legalbeaglesgroup.com
