  • settlement agreement brought about by lies

Two years ago I reached a settlement with my ex-employer to prevent a claim following bullying and other bad behaviour by my manager. This manager (who has now been dismissed for similar behavour) was also bullying other staff and I heard at the time he was facing a large number of grievances from colleagues. Complaints to HR got me nowhere and they assured me that no other stadd had complained. This turned out to be a lie. My grievance and appeal was not successful and I feared was a stitchup. In the event, I reached a settlement and moved on. I have now been sent anonymously more than 500 whatsapp messages between this manager, HR, and the officer hearing the grievence and appeal, which confirm that it was a stitch up and the manager would be "looked after" during the hearings. Do I have any comeback against my ex-employer? Thank you

Highly unlikely as the settlement agreement would have had a clause about giving up your rights to make a claim or any future claims, or something along those lines. At least the numerous amount I have seen do.

You should check the clauses of your settlement agreement.

Also consider that the person who sent you this information may have committed a data breach. This information could only have been provided to you, if at the time you had submitted a Subject Access Request that covered all electronic communication related to you and the handling of your grievance.
If you would like a one-to-one expert consultation with me on your employment issue than I can be contacted by emailing admin@legalbeaglesgroup.com

I do not provide advice by PM although I may on occasion ask you to send me documents this way but any related advice will be provided back on your thread.

I do my best to provide good practical advice, however I do so without liability.
