  • Redundancy Notice Letter

Hi, I was given a redundancy notice letter last week. This was the first time I had heard my job was going to be made redundant / at risk of it! My question is, is that fair process? The letter states the reason for the redundancy is operational changes and my last day will be in August. It states they can't find another suitable position. I have been there 17 years. I am the only one who does my job but some of my role will be absorbed by other team members. The letter also gives the wrong job title and it's on the wrong company letterhead. Advice most welcome on if this is fair process. Spoke to Acas but they couldnt comment if it was fair process or not! Thanks in advance

If all you have received is a letter detailing what you have set out in your post and there has been no consultation process then my view that is not the way a redundancy consultation process should be handled. Even if you are the only person whose job is at risk then a fair consultation process needs to be undertaken.
