Hello. I work in an independent school as a subject head. One of my colleagues who is also a subject head has been encouraged to step down due to performance issues but has only agreed to do so if they can retain their salary. Management have finally relented in order to resolve the issues created by their poor performance. To me this seems entirely unfair as the incompetent colleague is essentially being rewarded for having failed at their job and will now reap the benefits. She will continue to work at the school for the same salary with zero responsibility. I would like to know if this is common practice and if there is any point in attempting to challenge this? Many thanks.

While I can see how this pisses you off, there is nothing that you can do about it.Lawyer (solicitor) - retired from practice, now supervising solicitor in a university law clinic. I do not advise by private message.
Litigants in Person should download and read the Judiciary's handbook for litigants in person: https://www.judiciary.uk/wp-content/..._in_Person.pdf
