  • Disability disclosure

    Hello

I had to answer some disability monitoring questions in addition to some other questions about ethnicity, gender, etc., as part of my employment contract. And I not only did not disclose my disability but answered No to the question(rather than selecting yes or prefer not to say). Now after a year of employment, I have decided to disclose my disability because of too much pressure, but I am worried about being accused of dishonesty. I was wondering if it may be any problem for me? Can my employer make any problem for me for not giving the right answer to that question?

No issue as far as I can see.

You can disclose a disability at any time.
Not a solicitor. Please seek any professional guidance I can only provide information based on my experiences and countless hours of research.

Those monitoring questions usually make clear that they are not used for selecting candidates for the job but only anonymously for internal monitoring. So it's irrelevant what you said on it as it made no difference to whether or not you got the job. You can notify your disability now if you want to.
All opinions expressed are based on my personal experience. I am not a lawyer and do not hold any legal qualifications.
