  • Unpaid AL

    Hi

Just been informed by colleague that my boss said this week will be unpaid for me. This is due to an error..

When AL allocation has come out last year I've asked my boss to put them down on the system. When off duty has come out I didn't check has she put it down both weeks on(previous and current) as presumed that if I have one I will have the other.

Whilst I've been away I've been told I meant to be in at work and informed my work friend that currently still on AL and my first shift is Sunday 11th as OT.

My boss wnt mad about it all and said this will be down as unpaid week
It was her error that she didn't check her sheet properly and my mistake as I didn't check if both are on
I know that both weeks were on the spread sheet, as a while back I double checked with my other boss if I have any hours left and we were adding everything on and randomly put remaining hours. Unfortunately this means it is her word against mine.

Can they do it? Can they decide not to pay me?

I'm working as HCA in NHS

I am guessing that AL may be Annual Leave, and OT Overtime. Please confirm, and clarify the TLA.

Can you provide an update on this as you have gone into work today. Did you manage to explain the misunderstanding and has this now been resolved?

My advice would be that you raise this with someone more senior and explain the error that has happened resulting in you not being paid for your holiday.
