  • Can they keep me at work like this?

Hi, I handed in my notice in September and have a four month notice to work. The company I work for has been taken over which was one of the reasons I handed in my notice. Since handing my notice in, absolutely all my work has been taken off of me and handed to various people at the new takeover company. My role has essentially been made redundant and I’m now being given junior tasks to do to keep me ‘busy’ - although I only have about two day’s worth of work per week from these menial tasks. Is there any way I can leave and still get my pay until Jan when my notice period ends since I no longer have my job there? I’ve been completely tossed aside but they don’t seem to want me to leave. Or do I just need to put up with being given another job for two months? Thanks a lot for any help!

Only if you bring and win a case for constructive dismissal. That is a lot easier said than done. Do you have a new job lined up that you can start earlier?

Litigants in Person should download and read the Judiciary's handbook for litigants in person: https://www.judiciary.uk/wp-content/..._in_Person.pdf

Thanks very much for your response. That looks like a lot of work so I guess I will just have to put up with it until I can go.
