  • Continous service and sick pay

Hi just wondering of one of you kind people could help me decrypt what a certain part of my contract means regarding sick pay.

    3. START DATE 30 May 2022
    4. CONTINUOUS SERVICE 02 April 2014
4.1 Your period of continuous service is the same as the Start Date in clause 3 above, except where periods of continuous service in clause 4 above with other local authorities and related employers listed in the Local Government Redundancy Payments and Modifications Order are allowed to count for specified purposes such as Redundancy Calculations and the accrual of service years for annual leave, occupational sick pay and maternity leave provision.

As i read it im entitled to sick pay as if I've been employed since 2014.

    But would just like clarification.

    Thanks.

That's how I read it too.

I presume you have been continuously employed via any of the establishments set out in that clause, since 4 April 2014?

Thank you for confirming that information, which means any benefits linked to continuous service apply with the date or 4 April 2014 being the reference point
