  • What to put in an ET1 claim on Employment Status?

    Hi,

    I am based in England.

I am trying to make a claim over incorrect employment status.

I am not sure what I need to write for the Particulars of Claim.

Do I just include information on why I think my employment status was wrong?

I have written 25 pages so far, and I think this is probably too long, but I don't know what I should/can leave out.

I've included information on whether I believe there was a mutuality of obligation, control over my work, obligation to personally do the work, and any other factors I think might be important.

Do I need to include all of this? Are these the sort of things I need to include?

I want to shorten it, but I don't want to take out something that is important.

A short response to you is that a 25 page Particulars of Claim is likely to be too long. You do need to be detailed in your claim information however this needs to be done in a concise way and given this appears is be only one claim seems to be excessive.

I have shortened it to 10 pages, does this sound okay?

What happens if it's too long? Can it be rejected?

It seems more reasonable than 25 pages, so long as you are happy it sets the detail and basis of your claim.
