  • Tax on Swiss income

    Hello,
I work 10 days a month in Switzerland and have done so for 7 years. I have always paid my taxes etc in Switzerland as I’m on a B permit. I am now considering working part time for my husband in the UK where I am resident. Would I need to pay tax twice on my Swiss income? Ie at source & UK? Thank you

Whether you need to pay depends on if you're classed as 'resident' in the UK for tax. If you're not UK resident, you will not have to pay UK tax on your foreign income. If you're UK resident, you'll normally pay tax on your foreign income. But you may not have to if your permanent home ('domicile') is abroad.

Arrangements are in place to make sure you do not pay tax twice on the same income.
