    Hi im just looking for some advice, when leaving employment at one local authority and starting at another would it be classed as continous service?

    As it appears that you will be changing employer, the answer is "no". So bear in mind that you will be losing accrued redundancy rights, and that you will have no job security or redundancy rights for 2 years.

      Hi thanks for taking the time to reply. Reason I asked is the council I left in November whenever a member of staff started from one of the other Leicestershire councils they carried on the service regarding holidays and sick entitlement. Including 1 person from the council I went to.

      ​​​​​​​But when I have left and gone to the other I started on the lowest amount of holidays. So was just curious if it was standard practice or if my previous employer just went above and beyond by allowing people starting from 1 of the other Leicestershire Council to have it as continuous service.

        holidays and sick entitlement are not the same thing as continuity of employment, which is what you asked about.

        You could always ask the new employer (if possible before you commit).
