  • Help please.

    I have a diagnosed mental Illness, sometimes I am off work due to depression/anxiety. I tried to access my workplace Teams network to ask a question but found I was blocked. I informed my new Manager as this has never happened previously. She informed me that I had been "blocked" due to the nature of my illness. She has treated me awfully since finding out about my illness, I am upset and feel completely isolated and excluded. Is there anything I can do?

      How long has the company know about your diagnosed illness? Have you had any discussion with the company regarding a possible occupational health (OH) assessment or any reasonable adjustments?

        My company has known for ages about my illness and they have offered OH support. My old boss was extremely supportive, however, because of my illness, my new boss treats me differently, sometimes its quite degrading. She has excluded me from an internal Teams group which is a source of support for all, stating the reason as "due to the nature of my illness" in a written communication. This has never happened before.to anybody.

          I would suggest that the first thing you need to do is speak to someone about what has happened under your new manager. Either someone in HR or if there is no HR department then arrange to speak to a more senior manager.
