  • Manager taking all early shifts!

Hi, I work in a team of 3 including the manager. The manager is always doing the early shifts and the other colleague is doing all the lates…I’m doing all earlies when there 3 of is in bit when it’s just me and the manager he puts me for a late always…have briefly spoke to him about dividing the early shifts a bit more evenly when it’s just me and him in but his response is the previous managers was doing the same and as he lives the closest so it makes sense he’s doing the earlies always. Is there anything else that could be done by talking to hr or anything else?

How long have you worked there?

You've raised a grievance informally by talking to your line manager, your next step would be to lodge a Formal Grievance in writing with HR. They will arrange a meeting so that a resolution can be found. As there are also if other colleagues aren't happy with the current arrangements, you could raise a joint grievance, again in writing.

ULA Can you take a look and advise, many thanks.

Can I suggest that you first speak to HR and explain you have already spoken to your line manager and the outcome was not satisfactory and let them know that you want to raise this via the grievance procedure. In that way they may decide to take the initiative to see if they can resolve it without you have to raise a formal grievance but if they do not that would be your next step.
