It's in your contract, clearly unfair, but the company might need to find someone to replace you, that takes time.
Ask them if they will allow you to shorten the Notice Period.

As echat11 has stated unfortunately that is the notice set out in your contract so that is what you need to give.
It is not unusual for there to be different notice periods required by the employee from the employer. The statutory notice that you are required to give is actually one week, however your higher contractual notice requirement supersedes the statutory notice.
