    Hi,
Could anyone tell me what section 17.1 means? I understand 17.1.1 and 17.1.2, but I am not sure if 17.1 means my husband cannot leave his current job to do the same job at another company for 12 weeks after his termination. He is a mot tester/vehicle technician. Image of document is below

My reading of 17.1 is that he does not need the prior written permission of the Director to take up employment elsewhere unless 17.1.1. or 17.1.2 are in play.

18 which is not fully displayed, seems to prohibit him working for a competitor located within 10 miles of his present employer's premises unless he has the prior written consent of the Director.

Yes the Non competition section does state he can not work with in 10 miles of his present employer. Do you know how strict this is as we think the possible place he would go is 9.5 miles. I am assuming it is strictly 10 miles though.

18 is unclear - it could mean a radius of 10 miles or a distance of 10 miles door to door by the shortest route or 10 miles by the most convenient route a hypothetical customer would take. look up "contra proferentem".
