Employers right to medical information

Hi I am currently seeking isolating because my child has Corona virus symptoms.
I ordered a home test because I know she will not comply at a test center (she is under 3) while I might have a chance at home.
Employer demanded evidence that test had been booked. I do not think they have the right to this, but I complied out of courtesy. They then demanded that instead of a home test, I take her to a test center that day.
Do employers have the right to demand my child test?
Do employers have the right to demand how and when my child is tested?
I have looked at a lot of advice, but can't find anything covering this.

If your child has symptoms I presume ou have ordered the PCR kit to home?

My view is that you have provided evidence that the test has been requested, they cannot demand how your child is tested and in any event as your child has symptoms you need to self-isolate until such time as you have the test results of your child. It may also be advisable to get yourself tested as well and inform your employer that you are doing that.
