Hi all, I left my job on the 31st of August 2015. I ten rejoined that job in January 2016( this was never the intention, I had left for good). My employer is now beginning a disciplinary procedure against me for allegations that occurred during the contract that ended on the 31st August 2015 now. Can they do this?

Sorry but this is a really unususal issue.
If this relates to an incident well over 5 years ago and you have been back employed with them since Jan 2016 this seems well outside the bounds of taking action without unreasonable delawyto be taking disciplinary action. I am not sure how a fair and reasonable investigation and disciplinary process can be undertaken on something that, given the time lapse, may well have either been forgotton or with very hazy recollection of the event.
