Doctors note during notice period

Hi.
Im currently recovering from an operation and have decided to leave my present job.
I have to give 4 weeks notice.
Will my 4 weeks doctors certificate legally cover me for those 4 weeks notice, without me having to return to work?.

if you are required, under your contract to give 4 weeks notice and you actually do so, even if you are signed off sick during that period you will have given the correct notice.

May I ask one more question.
I have accrued 2 weeks "Toil" (extra work hours I have done),will the company be entitled to keep that 2 weeks money after I leave?

What is the policy that you have in place in regard to TOIL this should be covered within that policy.
