Hi, 2 days ago I worked with a colleague in a room approximately 3 metres by 4 metres, she has since tested positive to Covid. I have received notification from the NHS that I must Isolate for 14 days. This is due to her manually imputing my details as having contact with myself for several hours. With have preventative measures such as cleaning surfaces regularly and wearing face coverings. I informed my supervisor who said as we have measures in place to prevent the spread of the virus and that the notification isn't valid and I can continue to work. I am concerned by this as I don't want to risk potentially spreading Covid or receiving a fine and criminal record if reported. Many thanks for any advice.

If you have been contacted by NHS test and trace then you need to follow the rules for self isolation. You may want to refer your employer to the guidance linked to below which not only details the legal requirement upon you and the fines in place if your do not adhere to them but also your employers who allow staff to come to work when they should be self-isolating.
