Hi!
someone from my household developped A high fever. I informed my employer and got back home. The covid test result for that person, done on the same day the symptoms developped, came back negative.
However, although I had no symptoms and the person tested negative, my employer requested for me to have a test in order to be allowed to Get back to work. They let me deal with it, not giving me any guidelines, being left with the only option to have a NHS test although it goes against the government guidelines as you should only be tested if you have symptoms.
I did it (Driving over 2 hours to get to the test center) but felt that I have been treated unfairly as I was not remotely more likely to spread the virus than anyone else.
My test came back negative and have communicated this to my company. I just do not think that I should have been through this. I am wrong to think that this was an unreasonable request? Should I have a chat with them about this situation as it is really bugging me or just drop it?
thank you for your advise.
