  • Newbie with furlough question

Looking for some advice and found this informative site .... keeping fingers crossed! We have 13 in our team working Logistics operations planning shifts - 5 have been furloughed due to downturn including myself. My shift is being covered by a less experienced person, most likely on less money ... & has not long joined the company, as his friend is my Supervisor who got him the job! My appraisal in Feb was glowing, I’ve been training guys up in systems and work, usually the one who stayed back to do all o/t when no-one else did ...I’ve now received my At Risk Letter. During consultation they scored 3 for flexibility and 3 for work knowledge which I contested straight away. I’ve requested written copies of my consultation meetings (all done by tel) and appraisal, but still not heard anything. The Supervisor wrote my assessment for consultation yet it was a a manager who spoke with me, they have not explained how they got to my scoring ... Am I doomed? Suspect he is saving his pal ....

Can i back-track a bit with some questions:

    1. The 13 in your team have you all been put in the selection pool? Or has it been a specific job type?
    2. Have you had a consultation meeting, albeit probably virtually, that has gone through your scoring against the selection criteria and how your scores compared to the rest of the selection pool. Although this info would have to be anonymised they are able to provide bottom and top score against each criteria.
    3. If you have not been offered that meeting do you know whether that will form part of your next meeting?
    4. Ideally there should be two managers/supervisors who have knowledge of the work of staff in the selection pool to carry out the assessment to try and reduce an bias. Do you know if this happened?
If you would like a one-to-one expert consultation with me on your employment issue than I can be contacted by emailing admin@legalbeaglesgroup.com

I do not provide advice by PM although I may on occasion ask you to send me documents this way but any related advice will be provided back on your thread.

I do my best to provide good practical advice, however I do so without liability.
