I was recently made redundant due to cost cutting as a result of covid. I am due to leave in 2 days. I have just found out that the company has interviewed for my role. The person is a friend of a Non-executive director of the business. The role has "interim" before the same title and is doing my role as well as managing my old team. This person has not been employed yet what are my options? I have been with the company for 18 months.

Unfortunately since you have less than 2 years service you have not been employed long enough to be able to make any claim against your employer for unfair dismissal unless you can prove discrimination or you have been made redundant due to one of the criteria set out in the link below:

Redundancy is a form of dismissal for which to be able to claim unfair dismissal on the basis that the job was not redundant because someone else has been hired to do "your job" you need to have 2 years service.
