  • Company Is Moving Business Premises

    My husband's employer is moving business premises sometime this year.


    They will be moving and it will be taking 2 weeks.

    The boss is requiring for staff to keep and use their holiday entitlement when the move takes place.

    Is it legal for staff to use their holiday entitlement when a company moves premises?

    I think its appalling that the boss would rather get staff to use their holiday entitlement rather then pay them.

    Is this even legal?

    It is legal for a company to request staff to take holiday so long as they give the correct notice which is double the time for the holiday required to be taken. so if the company requires your husband to take 2 weeks holiday whilst it moves they will need to give him 4 weeks notice.*

      The staff don't know exactly when the company will be moving but it is sometime this year.

      They have not yet received 4 weeks notice as of yet.

      What happens if the employer doesn't enough notice!?

        The company will not be able to insist on the holiday being taken if they cannot provide the correct notice.*
