  • Employer requires fit for work after sickness

Hi everyone, hope you can help.

I have been off work with a sick note from mid January until now, my employer has been very understanding and helpful. Now my sick note is coming to an end and I'm looking to return to work my employer has requested a fit for work note from my GP before I can resume working for them ( I can safely work from home so no issues there ). The problem I have is that my GP is only doing over the phone consultations so I cannot get a fit note.*

I am fit and ready to go back to work but cannot. I don't want to cause any problems for my employer they have been great, but I can't afford to be on SSP for much longer and potentially would not be able to see a GP for a while to come.

Is there anything I can do?

    Kind Regards, Prolatarian.

Speak to GP / Surgery as I am sure they can carry out a workaround.

Hi. You should be able to obtain a fit note without consultation. On your current note, does it state you need a review once the note has ended or does it state the GP does not need to see you?*
