  • Maternity leave and job made redundant

Hi, I have 1 month left of maternity leave and my company has informed me that my role has been made redundant due to the lack of work available now as we have lost some clients.* Before mat leave, we had 2 full time positions.* They are waiting for me to confirm if I can return full time rather than my original request for part time.* Once I can confirm this, they will need to chose between myself or my colleague and one of us will be made redundant.* Does my situation classifies as discrimination against women trying to return to work after mat leave?* Any advice at all will be greatly appreciated!* Thanks.**

Hi, sorry but I need to get a bit more information/clarification before I can fully answer your question:

    1. Are there just two of you that are doing the role and there is only the need for one person to carry out the role due to this lack of work?
    2. When did you request to return to work part-time, presumably in your pre maternity role job?
    3. Did they confirm whether you could return part-time?
