  • Annual leave/days off for shift workers

Quick question. I currently work for the NHS 37.5 contract. If I book 5 days annual leave should I automatically get 9 days off to include 2 days before and 2 days after to account for rest days?

we have just been told that our Rota runs from monday-sunday so if we request leave 5 days Monday to Friday we are only guaranteed to get 7 days off and may have to work the weekend before....... (they will try to facilitate this)

So if I book a holiday sat to sat that effectively means I need to use 7 days leave to guarentee I can go. Doesn't seem right to me. Can anyone flirty this? I can't find anything in our contracts or policies about this?

    thank you

The 37.5 hours you work per week how many days is that over, i.e. 37.5 hours over 5 days?

Does the days in the week change depending on how you are rostered?
