  • Blackmail in the workplace how to handle it?

    Hi

    first time posting for advice.

I have recently moved within the company to help fill a void at another depot, in doing so i had agreed a wage supplement to cover my additional travelling.

2 weeks into the move and the manager gets let go, my area manager then call me and says i am going to loose the supplement as its been put through "wrong" and the only way i will get anything towards travelling costs is if i take the supervisors role.

I feel this was done due to issues employing a nee manager, a role i am not intrested in filling.

Where do i go and what can i do?

    many thanks

    Hi,

Just a couple of quick questions:

Do you have a mobility clause in your contract?
How far from the old depot is the new depot?
Was the wage supplement arrangement put in writing? If so was it time limited?
Was the move intended to be a permanent move or temporary to fill the void until maybe they had recruited someone in?

    Many thanks

      Hi Ula

      thank you for the reply.

I do have a mobilty clause, its 22 miles from the old depot.

I do have emails comfirming the wage supplement for moving depots between myself my area manager it was supposed to be a permanent supplement whilst at that depot.

It was a permanent move from what i was aware.

I know this may sound really simplistic but can you ask to return to your role at the previous depot (you will have to give up the supplement) as you do not want to take up the supervisor position in the depot you are currently at?
