Final Pay

Hoping someone can help me understand a little more about final pay. I started a new job in June and had to work a month in hand and then it was another month on top of that before any wages.
i left the job two weeks ago along with several others as couldn’t take anymore of the job. Long story but includes rude teenagers for management. Basically seven people walked out. I’ve been paid today for September rota. But not October or my month in hand. Same for all of us. The job is refusing to pay until end of November. They say we have to wait until then? We don’t understand why all hours were not paid in this months (today’s) wages.

That seems a bit excessive - so you had to wait 2 months before being paid your first working month's salary.

so effectively you are due roughly 6 weeks of pay - month in hand and the weeks you worked in Oct.

What does your contract say about final payments on termination in regard to the month in hand?

I was involved in a similar situation. I can only offer some simple advice so here goes...

Go and see Citizens Advice and try to get an advisor who really understands employment disputes.
Check out and engage with ACAS.
Check out the ".Gov" web site on the statutory aspects of your dispute.
Make sure that you approach your former employer verbally (if you expect this to be a constructive conversation.)
Communicate with your former employer via email and/or writing.
Set out your grievances to your former employer clearly and well within a three month period from your leaving date from the company.
Keep good records of everything!
