  • Salary Increase not honoured after probationary period

I started a new job and my offer letter / contract states that following successful completion of my probationary period my salary would increase from £x to £y

My probationary period with a new employer covered the period of the end / start of the company financial year.

I received an email during this time stating that as the company had done well, and to thank me for my work, I was receiving a % salary increase. This equated to 3% of my £x probationary wage.

Now my probationary period is over, my salary has increase to the original £y that was stated on my offer letter.

Should it not be the case that my new salary is £y + 3%?

This 3% increase on my probationary wage was only effective for 20days as the company financial year renewed at the end of my probationary period

Any advice or points in the right direction would be appreciated

You could ask for the 3% to be added to £y, but, in my view, there is no legal right to that 3%.
