Hi,

Can an employee be dismissed for misconduct following a work function with open bar provided by the employer and alcohol related incident resulted in breach of conduct?

Basically Yes.

Unless the employer held the employee down and forced them to drink then the amount of alcohol consumed is entirely the responsibility of the employee as is the incident.
