Hi my wife is on a zero hour contract and was suspended on gross misconduct charges but was later proven to be false and cleared however since then she has been given no work whats so ever and contact has been minimal with her bosses not answering phone calls or just replying by text,
She works at a half way house for young people been working for 7 years well thought of and very experienced,
When asking whats going on she was told no work which she found out not true then told they are reviewing relief workers,
It looks like she has been basiclly finished but not told,
The suspension I think was badly handled as she has to write a log of all events happening so when the accusation occured the investigator should of read the reports straight away and it would of been solved very quickly as it stated other people there but the investigation took a long time and my wife later asked if they spoke to the other worker they asked why? but my wife said because he was there the whole time then the suspension was lifted straight away but my wife was told it would be advisable not to work at this home as the accuser was still there , the person has since left several months ago but still no work at the 2 sites of work ,
Before this happened my wife worked at least 3 days a week now nothing for months.
Has she any legal rights etc.
    Thanks in advance

Unfortunately being on a zero hours contract your wife only has limited rights and being on such a contract means that the employer does not have to offer her work.

Given the situation and it seems that since the suspension the employer has stopped asking her to work, I would suggest that she writes to her employer and asks for a meeting for her to find out exactly what the situation is and whether she is likely to be offered work. It is harder for them to ignore something if it is in writing.
