I have a form for a taxi driver medical and the points listed are as follows:
Applicant must have a group 2 medical on initial application
Then every five years until age 45
At age 45 every 3 years until age 65
Then every year thereafter.

My question is:
I had a medical at age 65 so every year thereafter I must have another. My birthday is in September so I would assume that 1 year on from my 65^th I would have another in September on my 66 birthdays?
The council are insisting that its due on the 31^st May to tie up with their other paperwork. OK so that’s only 5 months after my 65 birthdays not a year thereafter. Would anyone reading this assume the same as me that a year thereafter my 65 birthday on September the 15^th is September the 14^th the following year (12 months later)

I would read it as saying 12 months following the date of your medical at age 65.

So if you didn't have a medical until December of that year, then it would be 12 months from that date. There's nothing you've provided that suggests the medical must be taken within a certain time of turning 65, 66, 67 etc.

What isn't so clear is whether you've actually had a medical at age 65 and on what date did that happen. If you are currently 65 and not yet had your medical then I would say it's still within the council's right to request a medical on 31st May since you'd still be aged 65. It just means your medical is going to be 12 months from that date.
