Hi, I am serving notice of redundancy as a regional manager after a restructure. One of the regionals who was retained after selection process has left and his role as been advertised internally. I am still in the business working my notice. There are no other regional managers who lost their roles in the business now, I am the last one, As a vacancy has arisen for the same role I was working in with same job title etc, can company still insist I be interviewed for this vacancy ?

Were there other people made redundant as part of the restructuring? If so then your employer has a responsibility to ask everyone at risk of redundancy to apply for alternative jobs and this vacancy would be one of them. Even if the other people have not held a similar position or the same job title they have the right to be considered for the position.
