Hi,
I started working at a company about 5 months ago and have a 6 month probation period. I wasn't happy with how the company treated people and decided to resign with immediate effect, so therefore didn't go back into work. I resigned via email with a signed and dated letter, due to how the directors act when members of staff resign, when resigning they are normally sworn at and basically told to F off, so I decided I didn't want to be faced with that.
I had no response from my resignation letter, and did write an email the next day to apologise for resigning via email. They have since sent me a couple of nasty emails due to me having a week off sick leave for an operation and a few days off for holiday.
In one email the director states that I owe them money for my holiday I have accrued even if my sick period isn't taken into account, if the sick leave is taken into account I then technically owe them 1 days money, which is not a lot.
They have sent me another nasty email wanting me to pay them for my sick leave and the extra day.
Could they take me to court for this, the amount is under £500.
