  • Bonus Payment

    Hi All

a quick question regarding a bonus payment, My wife has official notification of this years bonus payment approx £600, today she handed in her notice and has now been told that the bonus payment is no longer payable as per terms - these terms it seems have just appeared, they are not on the people HR system and nor does it seem that anyone has signed to say they are understood
any advice would be grateful if nothing else just to give the bullies a headache until she leaves in Dec

    Thanks

Most bonus schemes I have operated or seen other companies operate are firstly discretional and secondly have been conditional upon the person still being employed at the time the bonus is paid. When is the bonus payment due is it before or after your wife leaves in Dec?

I suggest that in the meantime your wife asks HR to provide the written details of the bonus scheme and specifically the part that relates to the criteria for payment.
If you would like a one-to-one expert consultation with me on your employment issue than I can be contacted by emailing admin@legalbeaglesgroup.com

I do my best to provide good practical advice, however I do so without liability.
If you have any doubts then do please seek professional legal advice.

When is the annual bonus due to be paid? Is it after your wife's leaving date?

Also has your wife actioned my suggestion in #2 about asking HR
to provide the written details of the bonus scheme and specifically the part that relates to the criteria for payment?
