  • Freedom of expression

I work for a large multi-national operating with all encompassing diversity and inclusion policies, policies which Iím more than happy to respect in my professional role. As employees, at all levels of the business, we are expected to fully respect and demonstrate our belief in these policies and some individuals have been threatened with disciplinary action if they donít, in particular, individuals who state an opinion or belief of their own on social media for example which doesnít align with company policy. Reading the story about the bakery who have now been cleared of any wrong doing in the same sex marriage cake case, how do company policies which apparently stifle individuals freedom of expression stand in law?
