  • Changes to my job

    Hi,

I have worked for the same organisation for 15 years.

For the first 5 years, I had a job Description that matched my day to day activities.
Then my role started to change due to a departmental restructure. I was happy with the changes to my role, however, I never received an updated job description.
One was drafted by my manager but it was never filed with HR.
Around 7 years ago, my role changed again. Again I was happy with the changes but they were never reflectef in a job description.
About 18 months ago, my team was transferred to another department. The activities I have been undertaking since then have been more complex and I have taken on additional responsibilities.
Now my manager is restructuring the team and has created a senior role that I will report to.

My issue is that in the new structure I will be taking on less responsibility than I am now and I feel that some of my current responsibilities will be taken on by the senior role.
He has indicated that the senior role is full time, I am part time.

I am unhappy as I feel that my current role is being descoped and that I will be deskilled.

What rights do I have to refuse the new position?

    Many thanks
    S

Gutted you’ve had no response. I’m in a similar position.
