My employer made a payroll error with my protected pay (following organisational change) over a period of 4.5 years. Once I was alerted to it I agreed I would repay over the same time period, which I felt was reasonable. Its been a shambles trying to get information and a financial breakdown from them, and they have even started to deduct the net figure without sharing the info with me.
My query is should I repay this net as that is what I have received, and how does the overpayment on NI/PAYE get adjusted? Pointing me in the right direction would be helpful. (Please don't suggest the union as they have been a waste of time and disappointment as they don't want to rock the boat with senior management).
