Hi I have been on long term sick awaiting adjustments from work
I attended a occupational health meeting this week on the 14th march and we are awaiting the report which they organised hr emailed me to check in to confirm appointment.
My sick note ended on the 12th march and I had informed them via email I had not been able to get a appointment at the doctors but would update them with my extended fit note to cover this period on (I emailed on the15th ). I received an email on 16th stating I was technically awol for 3 days will this goes on my record and are they allowed to do this ?

I have been on long term sick since oct 2016 and I think they are trying to get rid of me there has been a number of instances were I feel they have been underhand.
    any advice would be appreicated

Dependent on your company policy for reporting in sickness absence then technically you could be classed as absent without leave even though ypu have been on sick leave since Oct last year. To cover yourself you should have contacted the company on the date your sick note ran out to let then know you could not get a Dr appointment and then followed the reporting procedure - some companies require daily contact whilst absent until such times as you got yourself a new sick note.

in regard to your absence on long term sick employers do have the right to request a medical report. I presume that in doing so they went though the correct procedures andnazked for your consent. You also have a right to see the report in advance of it going to the company.
