    Question re ordinary residence law for both in person and distance learning phd course (doctoral loan application) if working abroad on a temporary 2 year contract, returning to uk after.

      Thank you, my question is regarding temporary absence from the UK and whether this affects eligibility for doctoral applications. UK regulation relates to temporary absence for people working within the Armed Forces but do not specify civilian absences - the guidelines appear exclude UK civilians from distance learning whilst abroad but is unclear regarding in-person enrollment with (temporary) time spent abroad.

            No, but thankyou, the regulations are unclear and I need to understand the legalities of the ordinarily resident clause with a temporary absence from the UK at the start of the course
