is it illegal for a school to take money of free school meals if you don't spend it by a certain time before school meaning that you can only get food at lunch and no drinks or drinks and a tiny bit of food.

Do your free school meals get dealt with by putting credit on a card or by providing lunch ? I know my kids had entitlement for a lunch rather than credit so anything outside lunch was separate and was paid for with pocket money etc.

Derbyshire council info on school meals for cashless systems.... ( we had a fingerprint thing )

"Some have a cashless system, and if they do, your child will be provided with an account which will be credited daily with a specific amount of money which will be sufficient to buy a main course, pudding and drink. "
