I know this has been covered a lot but I keep losing the threads. 2.5 years ago I signed up to the electrician course. A guy called Dave came to my house and after chatting about what they offered and me saying I’d take some time to think about it I then felt very pressured to sign up. Stupidly I did so. However £165 a month left us pretty short so I had to go back to work to afford the payments. My husband and I run our own business and Dave was aware of this. He told me there were no deadlines and to just work through at my pace. They usually recommend 10 hours a week but with running a busthe ness and two young children he said he understood I may not be able to commit to that.
Essentially 2.5 years on I haven’t managed to do more than open my books twice. My husband has had serious mental health issues and almost took his own life; thus I had to take on more hours at work to cover what he was losing. I rang the college but got a full mailbox and got cut off. When I called again I was told the company was now closed. Called the finance company (CF4TS) who said they would put my account on hold so no further payment would be take. Until I’d managed to sort something out with the college. I finally got in touch with the college who said I’d need to send copies of my husbands medical records to prove what I was saying before they could do anything about my payments. We’re in the middle of trying to sort all of this out and when I’ve checked my online banking today CF4TS have taken this months payment despite my account being on hold! It’s costing me a fortune to call them up. I just want out. I don’t want a refund. I just want out. My bank has said despite signing a director debit agreement it’s actually a standing order and won’t affect my credit rating if I just cancel. I’ve been assured by CF4TS that they wouldn’t send bailiffs etc round but I clearly can’t trust a word they say. I don’t know where to turn and my financial situation is fairly dire as a result of all of this. Has anyone got any advice?

sorry it’s so long. I tried to keep it short.

Edit: I have since found out there are deadlines and it needs to be completed by next December. Which will never happen
