Hi, my husband has received a NIP for the Alleged offence: Drive a mechanically propelled vehicle on a road / in a public place. The letter states his vehicle speed was 0MPH. He thinks it might be because he didn’t realise it was a giveaway for bicycles. But if his vehicle was 0mph he must have stopped. He cannot think of anything else this might be related to. Can someone please advise on what we can do/what will happen next. We will have to respond stating he was driving as no one else drives his car.
The letter states If you do not give the information required, a Magistrates' Court may give you 6 penalty points, a fine of up to £1000 and a disqualification from driving.
please advise, very worried here, we have a young child and massively rely on my husbands driving for his work.. thank you
