Lowell solicitors and bt

Hi.
I have recently received a letter from Lowell requesting payment before court action on an old BT account (2012)
I have spoken with BT customer services regarding sending me a copy of the original agreement which they say is archived and that they are unable to send this document to me.
Should I now request the original agreement from Lowell and am I right in thinking that if they cannot provide me with this they will not be able to progress through the court process?

Acknowledge Claim - within 14 days from Service

Defend Claim - within 28 days from Service (IF you acknowledged in time)

If you fail to Acknowledge the claim you may have a default judgment awarded against you, likewise, if you fail to enter your defence within 28 days from Service.
