Hi. Today I received a letter from a debt collector based in Holland chasing a debt owed to New Motion electric vehicle charging. I have never disputed the debt. My problem is that stupidly, I didn’t check that they had taken the money out each month via prearranged card payments I’d set up with them. They then suddenly decided to contact me demanding full payment and when I questioned them in why payments were not taken as arranged, they became uninterested in coming to any sort of arrangement with me to pay them what was owed. I’m in no position to pay the full amount in one go. They refused all offers. It is only £257.26, but I simply have no way of paying it in one go. They went quiet and the next thing I know I received one letter from Holland demanding money with no details of how to contact them. Today I received another letter. I’ve (hopefully) attached copies to this post. I’m not sure what to do. I want to pay but can’t pay the full sum. They’ve given me 4 days. Will I have to go to court? How do Dutch courts deal with things like this? The letter says a bailiff has tried to make contact on a few occasions. They haven’t. Other than the initial email conversation started by me, and the first letter, they haven’t tried to make contact. If anyone can read the letter and advise I’d be grateful. I don’t know what else to say so please ask any questions for more information. Thanks
