  • Time between filing and serving question

Hi, I am after a bit of advice please.

I am about to start a claim which is likely to be a small claim and I have decided to do it in writing using an N1 rather than using the online portal.

My understanding is that I send two copies of the documentaion inluding my particulars of claim to the court and then they serve it on the defendant,

    My questions are
    1) Am I right in my understanding?
    2) How long roughly does it take between the court recieving my corropondence and the court sedning the corrospondence to the defendant?

I have tried researching this online but I have been unable to find any guidance regarding the timescales between filing and service.

    Thanks!
