Please could you tell me if this is legal. I have a very old debt with Capquest on 13/2/2015 they wrote to say I still owed them £2,212.16 which I disputed has they had added nearly £500 in interest, they said they would take this off as it was a mistake, then on the 30/4/2015 it was taken to court and the Court Order said the amount owed was £1,745.13 to be paid at £2.00 per month, which I have paid every month since then. Now on contacting Drydensfairfax who are the solicitors acting on Capquest's behalf they are saying the amount I still owe is £1,598.18, so I asked what the opening balance was and they said £2,212.16. I pointed out that this was not the amount of the court order and they said that the rest is admin costs. So is this legal or do I go by what the court order says has there is about a £500 difference?
