I have gotten a couple of RLP letters to my address but the person doesn’t live here nor do I know of them. I have been at my current place for over 5 years now so I’m not sure why they’d be coming here. I opened the one that came today to see what it was which googling has lead me here. Should I contact them and say this person doesn’t live here? I see most of the advice is to just ignore them fully? Is this a scam company and should I be worried about people showing up to my door?

Yes. The advice to ignore is for those to whom such letters are correctly addressed.Originally posted by Trainer555 View PostShould I contact them and say this person doesn't live here?

The letters aren't addressed to you so not your responsibility. You could just ignore them but then more letters will follow and RLP could pass it to a debt collector. However if it were me I'd stick all the letters in an envelope, put a second class stamp on it, and post it back to RLP with a covering note saying the person does not live here and is unknown to current occupiers, who have lived there for 5 years. Don't reveal your name. Send it from a post office if you can and get a proof of posting.
Some people suggest just writing "Return to sender Addressee Unknown" and putting it into a post box but in my experience they often never get back to sender or if they do it can take months.
What probably happened is that the person RLP are writing to gave the store a false address - yours in this case. All opinions expressed are based on my personal experience. I am not a lawyer and do not hold any legal qualifications.
