Caught for not self scanning

Big mistake but did the self scan as you shop around store. Didn’t scan everything and got caught outside by a plain clothed store detective. Taken out back and gave driving licence as ID and given a letter saying banned I was also told that as I had ID that would be the end of it. I did the same a week ago but got away with it. My lesson learned today and it won’t happen again. Are they likely to look into my last visit or is it likely the end of it. I recently had a bereavement and to be fair I’ve not been myself.

Unless you hear from anyone in the next month or so you can assume you will hear nothing more about this as long as you don't steal again.

Comply with ban. Shops are legally entitled to ban you.

In principle it is possible for them to link the two incidents if they are the same shop but if the amounts involved are small they are unlikely to bother.

Thanks for taking time to reply. The last time was around £20 but the paid shop was more. Just a silly error that 100% won’t be repeated and I won’t go in the store. He asked if it was first time and I said yes
